We will support the Chittagong Ship Breaking Association in fostering strong cooperation among facility operators. By facilitating best practice sharing, coordinated safety campaigns, and comprehensive environmental compliance programs, HKC empowers the industry to collectively elevate performance and achieve sustainable outcomes.
Advancing Government Policy Alignment
HKC commits to working hand-in-hand with Bangladesh’s government agencies to refine and align national ship recycling policies with Hong Kong Convention mandates. We will provide technical expertise and policy advisory services to enhance regulatory enforcement, monitoring, and capacity building, driving systematic improvements across the sector.
Mobilizing International Support
Through our global partnerships, including with development institutions such as the World Bank, HKC will channel technical assistance, training, and financial resources into Bangladesh’s ship recycling ecosystem. We will help structure impactful programs that build compliance capacity and accelerate sustainable infrastructure upgrades.
Providing Targeted Implementation Tools
HKC will deliver tailored guidance and tools to ship recycling yards for facility upgrades, environmental management, and community engagement. Our technical training courses in Bengali will empower the workforce with essential safety and operational knowledge. We will also design and implement localized impact mitigation strategies, including coastal protection and pollution control plans.
